A seemingly simple round table with an interlocking X base, this clever design explores the mechanics of a folding table in unconventional detail. The design is based on an even simpler prototype, a classic Schindler house table from the 1930’s. In this current version, the two planks of the base are fitted with stops, creating a magazine rack along each leg. The table pictured has a clear glass top insert set over an optional Light Walnut finish, a favorite combination that O’Brien often uses in refurbishing antiques for his store. Carved-in tray handles are another signature O’Brien detail.
