Description

This sofa was created by O’Brien from his original sketch studies of formal yet comfortable Regency-inspired upholstery. In both shape and intention, it is a lead piece for the Library collection. The sofa as shown is standard with a simple arm without nail trim and turned front legs. The sofa is distinguished by the option of two separate, customized bases: first, a fully upholstered base in a more Continental style, with a gently scalloping fretwork detail at the legs and a nailhead detail on the face and side of the arm; and the second (as shown), a clubby, library-style profile with acorn-shaped turned wooden feet and a simpler upholstered arm profile. The Atheneum Sofa with nailed arms and turned front legs is available as 2300-17. Four 20-inch goose feather throw pillows standard. 3-piece Spring-Down seat cushion standard. Shown in standard Dark Walnut finish.
