Featuring an exposed wood base, elongated cylindrical arms and a refined loose back cushion, the Convento sofa pays homage to its original muse, an upholstered chair that dates back to the late 1880's. This chair was found among the furnishings of a convent in Lincoln, New Mexico. Lincoln was the former county seat of Lincoln County, New Mexico and the town was made infamous as the scene of much violence during the Lincoln County War, a range and mercantile war. The original chair is housed in the New Mexico History Museum.
