In furnishing his home, H. F. du Pont exhibited a fondness for the Federal and early classical-revival style. One such example is a tilt-top stand with scalloped top that features “swept” sides and blocked ends. It was made in New England around 1800. In keeping with the taste for clean, geometric shapes, this fresh new design is updated with four legs which adds drama by contrasting smooth curves with projecting corners.

Hickory Chair Company artists were inspired by the contrasting lines in each furniture form in the design of these spot tables. The resulting furniture forms are certain to become an important part of today’s living environments that emphasize unparalleled quality and beauty.

Dark Walnut finish is standard. Optional finishes available as 6485-70.
