One of the earliest branded furniture groups, in fact, was developed by Hickory Chair in collaboration with owners of early-American estates along Virginia’s fabled James River in 1941. Hickory Chair’s inspiring assortment of timeless designs now draw from significant places like H.F. DuPont’s Winterthur Country Estate, as well as from partnerships with design authorities such as Thomas O’Brien, Mariette Himes Gomez, Alexa Hampton and Albert Sack.
