A special part of the Winterthur Library is the Joseph Downs Collection of Manuscripts and Printed Ephemera, which contains color reproductions of furniture drawings created by Gillow & Company in Lancaster, England, between 1780 and 1810. Three generations of the Gillow family made some of the finest English furniture. Among the illustrations is a handsome three-drawer case piece with a concave facade and tapered legs. Hickory Chair has adapted a Gillow & Company design to create this modern nightstand. The result is a piece of furniture that is certain to become an important part of today’s living environments that emphasize unparalleled quality and beauty. Standard with two drawers, an antique mirror on the interior back panel, and ebony bronze hardware. Dark Walnut is the standard finish. Optional finishes are available as the HC6466-70.
